Birthday!

It’s my dad’s birthday.

My dad is my hero. I’ve said it in front of his whole church. I’ve said it in front of my whole church. I’ll say it to you — the internet community — MY DAD IS MY HERO.

Today is also the birthday of the Constitution. Coincidence?

Which Founding Father are you? Find out with this online interactive quiz! My score? George Washington.

  1. So when the book of Hebrews says “Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith,” that means . . .

Because that’s what I mean when I say “my dad is my hero.” You’re the only one talking about worship, Dave.

    1. Christian counselor Larry Crabb says that hero worship is one of evangelicalism’s worst sins and that son to father idolatry is the most subtle. No offense but the heart of man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it? (Jer. 17:9).

      1. If you’re serious about this, Dave, using the public comments section of a blog for a confrontation isn’t the best use of Matthew 18:15.

And yes, I’m aware of the inherent irony of bringing the Matthew 18:15 point to your attention using the public comments section of a blog. 🙂

It might be better if everyone takes one another’s points and sets the matter aside. Grace and peace.
